Warm / Cool Mist Humidifiers
Warm / cool mist humidifiers, as their name suggests produce a mist that is blown into the air. This style of point of use humidifier has been around for quite some time. Unfortunately since the moisture is not evaporated, but instead consists of tiny particles of water. These types of humidifiers are common as point of use units, but not as whole house humidifiers since they would leave considerable amounts of condensation on your homes ductwork.
Pros of Mist Humidifiers
One of the main benefits of mist humidifiers is that they can provide a large amount of humidity to your air. They can also keep a room at a very specific humidity level if they come with a humidistat to control whether they are operating or not.
Cons of Mist Humidifiers
The main drawback of warm mist and cool mist humidifiers can be found in the name. They produce mist, which is blown into the air. If the mist lands on any object before it evaporates into the air then it will form condensation and you may find you have a mold problem.
